Album Review: World Gone Mad by Suicidal Tendencies

Fairly Good, Based on 2 Critics

With a new guitarist and bassist, Jeff Pogan and Ra Diaz, plus sometime Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo on board, the 2016 version of Suicidal Tendencies is a largely untested beast, but seasoned Suicidals fans will know what to expect. As per the previous decade’s worth of latter-day albums, the basic formula is unchanged: it’s thrash metal drums and riffs, exceedingly funky slap bass, horse-whinny solos and shouted vocals. This time, see One Finger Salute, Happy Never After and the excellent opener Clap Like Ozzy for where Mike Muir and band are at after 35 years in the business.
