After covering an iconic album by Bob Dylan in its entirety, that being the famously influential Blonde On Blonde no less, how is a band best advised as far as making its next move? That was the inevitable question Old Crow Medicine Show was forced to consider following the accolades that tribute received. After all, one of the main objectives at that juncture had to be to reestablish their own identity, free of anyone else's shadow, including the biggest of all, that of Mr. Dylan.

One of Americana's best and most consistent acts have found something new to say on this, their seventh full-length. Produced by an apparently tireless Dave Cobb (Lindi Ortega, Jason Isbell), Old Crow's signature old-time sound feels as alive as ever; this may be a studio album, but you'd be forgiven for thinking it was recorded at a kitchen party. Old Crow Medicine Show played their first notes together 20 years ago, but their roots extend back even further, with founding members Ketch Secor and Critter Fuqua travelling up and down the East Coast playing with anyone who wanted to jam. In 2000, the band were busking in Boone, North Carolina, when Doc Watson heard them and invited the band to play his annual MerleFest. Since then, Old Crow have enjoyed a long and auspicious career, even scoring an honest-to-god hit with "Wagon Wheel".
