It seems there's no ceiling for Cherry Glazerr. Building on the indie rock stomp of 2017's Apocalipstick and blending in the slamming grunge rock of 2019's Stuffed & Ready, new album I Don't Want You Anymore continues the skyward trend with a power-packed collection of raucous rhythms, bouncy beats, and rough riffs delivered with an emotional intensity akin to Wolf Alice and The Kills. Resurrecting the soft/loud dynamics of '90s grunge and updating it to include the taut nervousness and emotional instability much of the world is experiencing lately, lead guitarist--and singer--Clementine Creevy and company use their uncanny ability to construct alluring compositions with raw energy, punk swagger, and pop smarts that all start from a strong melodic framework.
If there's one constant in Cherry Glazerr's vigorous alt-rock through the years, it's Clementine Creevy never sounding like she needs to apologize. To describe it in simpler terms: her musical project oozes raw power. But something's changed in Creevy's fifth album. While there are raucous barnburners like Touched You With My Chaos and Soft Like a Flower—which sound better than most of modern rock radio and are woefully absent—a moderate chunk of I Don't Want You Anymore consists of taut, reflective slow burners like Eat You like a Pill and Bad Habit that would make Shirley Manson proud.

The thing that starts with "p" and that we don't name anymore had mixed effects depending which kind of person you were. I personally enjoyed the introspection, made the best out of my time at home, set up an office, watched movies, played videogames, cooked, and watched the world go to shit in real time from the sidelines.
